Kazakhstan’s capital joined the World Tourism Alliance at an international forum held in the Chinese province of Hainan. Experts believe this membership will open up new prospects for promoting the tourism potential of not only Astana but Kazakhstan as a whole globally and attract new visitors.
«Joining the WTA will attract more travelers. Also, events in our city will be advertised on all the alliance’s platforms, which will provide greater opportunities for member states to exchange information and tourists,» said Tleuzhan Omiruzag, spokesperson for the Astana Investment and Entrepreneurship Development Department.
The Kazakh capital will also have a new tourist area for travelers. Covering over 150 hectares, it will include entertainment complexes, restaurants, and hotels, all planned to be funded through investments.
«The new tourist area will be located in the Nura district. The territory will cover around 158 hectares. In general, this area will be designed for family leisure, serving as an entertainment and business center,» said Adilet Abdugaliyev, chief expert of the department of the Kazakh Ministry of Industry and Construction.
