Aktobe pays tribute to Hero of Soviet Union Aliya Moldagulova

The city of Aktobe paid tribute to the legendary sniper and Hero of the Soviet Union, Aliya Moldagulova, on the 100th anniversary of her birth. Veterans, servicemen, relatives, youth, and local citizens gathered at the memorial complex named after her to lay flowers in her honor. Moldagulova volunteered at 18 for the front to defend her homeland. The anniversary of the Hero of the Soviet Union is included in the list of national celebratory events, with over 100 military-patriotic and sports competitions, contests, themed evenings, and other commemorative events planned across the country and region.

«Moldagulova’s feat is a great example for future generations. She will forever remain in the country’s history as a symbol of heroism, patriotism and unbending fighting spirit. Every year, events are held to honor memorable dates associated with Moldagulova: her birthday and January 14, the day of her death,» said Bekzat Kaumeshov, head of activities at the Aktobe College of Transport, Communications and New Technologies.
