Artificial
intelligence (AI) has revived the image of Aliya Moldagulova, the renowned
Kazakh sniper and Hero of the Soviet Union. A museum in Aktobe uses multimedia
technologies to fully immerse visitors in her life.
The glorious name of
the Kazakh people’s daughter, Aliya Moldagulova, whose invaluable feat over the
enemy became a symbol of heroism.
At the museum
entrance, visitors are welcomed by a five-language virtual guide. Through VR
glasses, they can travel back to Moldagulova’s childhood in her native village.
Sound and video-enhanced dioramas depict the siege of Leningrad, the sniper’s
orphanage, and her school. Particularly memorable is the AI-generated
holographic image of Moldagulova writing a letter to her family from the front.
Visitors can also watch a CGI and 3D-mapped mini-film recreating her final
battle.
«There are diagrams
showing Aliya’s sniper skills and the fatal wound she received in Kazachikha
village. These visually immersive historical moments leave a lasting impression,»
said Zhanar Maksutova, director of the Aktobe Regional Memorial Museum of Hero
of the Soviet Union Aliya Moldagulova.
Today, the museum
houses over 11,000 exhibits related to Moldagulova. The region has also planned
a hundreds event program throughout the year to mark the Hero’s 100th
anniversary with an approved special logo.
