Samruk-Kazyna is implementing 64 projects worth more
than 38 trillion tenge. Construction and installation work has already begun on
most of them, including the development of two major wind power plants in the
south and north of the country. This was announced at a meeting of the Fund’s
Board of Directors in Astana, chaired by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov. The
meeting also reviewed plans for the construction of a second line of the
Beineu–Bozoy–Shymkent main gas pipeline, as well as the creation of a special
economic zone in the Atyrau region focused on deep hydrocarbon processing. In
addition, in the first quarter, Samruk-Kazyna signed a number of key
agreements, including a project for dredging operations in the ports of
Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. Following the meeting, Bektenov instructed that
oversight of project timelines be enhanced and the share of local content in
their implementation increased.
