This year, 28 investment projects are being
implemented in Kazakhstan’s mining and metallurgical sector. They will create
thousands of new jobs and become a driver of economic diversification. Industry
development issues were discussed by the heads of mining and metallurgical
enterprises, along with representatives of sectoral associations, at a meeting
of the Council of Domestic Entrepreneurs, chaired by Prime Minister Olzhas
Bektenov. According to him, the state is focusing on moving from a raw material-based
model toward deep processing and the production of high-value-added goods.
Particular attention was paid to environmental issues and the introduction of
modern technologies, including digital solutions and artificial intelligence
(AI). Additionally, on July 1 Kazakhstan launched an updated state procurement
platform, designed to increase the share of domestic products in the sector.
Overall, the country will continue to support enterprises that establish a full
production cycle and implement eco-friendly standards.
