19 Kazakh citizens, including 15
children, returned home from Israel by a special flight, organized through the
efforts of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Israel.
Diplomats provided assistance with transfers from various
regions of the country to the airport, as reported by spokesperson for the
Kazakh Foreign Ministry Aibek Smadiyarov. He notes
that the Embassies of Kazakhstan in Egypt and Jordan are also involved in
organizing the departure of Kazakh citizens from the
country. Besides, they maintain contact with Kazakh citizens in the Gaza Strip,
where the situation remains complex.
“It is noteworthy that Tel Aviv
International Airport continues to operate in regular mode. The Embassies of
Kazakhstan in Egypt and Jordan are maintaining contact with Kazakh citizens in
this area. Our diplomats hold daily negotiations with local authorities about
the potential departure of our compatriots and their families from the Gaza
Strip to Egypt through the Rafah crossing. As of today, we have information
that there are 67 Kazakh citizens with documents together with their family
members in the Gaza Strip, which is more than 100 people. No information about
deaths or injuries among the citizens has been recorded,” said Smadiyarov.
Kazakhstan-EU cooperation to be
discussed in Luxembourg
Smadiyarov also spoke about the upcoming visit
of a representative of the European Commission, the Directorate for
International Cooperation to Kazakhstan this week. He will get
acquainted with the work of the Aktau and Kuryk ports. It bears noting that the
visit itself will be a preparatory stage for the Investors’ Forum in Brussels, slated
for January 2024. The Foreign Ministry also announced the participation of the
Kazakh delegation in the Central Asia – EU Ministerial Meeting
and the 20th anniversary meeting of the Kazakhstan – EU Cooperation Council in
Luxembourg. On its sidelines, bilateral meetings will be held between the
Kazakh Foreign Ministry and the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and
Security Policy Josep Borrell, as well as the foreign ministers of a number of
European countries.
