Kazakhstan is set to launch 12 production facilities in the
railway engineering sector over the next two years, the Ministry of Industry
and Construction reports. Among them are a new welding shop in Atyrau for
locomotive support beams and the launch of freight wagon production. The
Zhambyl region will open a technical maintenance center for electric
locomotives, while the Karagandy region will focus on producing wheelsets.
Pavlodar will develop a mechanical processing workshop, alongside a forging and
bandaging complex. Northern Kazakhstan will begin producing passenger cars and
platform wagons, while the Akmola region will host a new locomotive
manufacturing plant. In the east of the country, foundry production will
undergo modernization.
