The potential for trade and economic cooperation between the
regions of Kazakhstan and Russia, as well as opportunities for industrial
collaboration, is being discussed at a forum in Ufa. The event has brought
together over 400 representatives from government agencies and businesses of
both countries.
«There was no platform for interaction between our regions,
and regions are integral parts of each country’s economy. This platform is
designed to facilitate dialogue between regions. It fosters inter-country
partnerships, the signing of partnership agreements, and the development of
regional cooperation, particularly in investments. For example, Bashkortostan
is starting to invest in the Aktobe region and other regions of Kazakhstan,» said
Kazakh Vice Minister of Trade and Integration Kairat Torebayev.
«Our Republic has created a broad range of infrastructure
options for attracting investments, including preferential areas, special
economic zones, and a variety of state measures, such as tax regimes, to ensure
that investments can be made safely and profitably. These measures apply to our
foreign partners, including Kazakhstan,» said Radiy Khabirov, Head of the Republic
of Bashkortostan.
Domestic entrepreneurs consider the most promising areas of
partnership to be mechanical engineering, the chemical industry, construction
materials production, light industry, and the agro-industrial complex. Notably,
the forum is given special significance at the highest level. The leaders of
Kazakhstan and Russia are expected to participate in the event. The parties
plan to sign a program for interregional and cross-border cooperation, which
includes around 140 initiatives across 12 sectors.
