A mountaineer from
Kazakhstan has successfully climbed two iconic peaks in 20 days as part of the
international 7
Volcanoes
project. First, Marina Malysheva reached the 5,600-meter East Summit of Mount
Elbrus in Russia, and then
Damavand in Iran – Asia’s highest
volcano, which also rises above 5,600 meters. Although Malysheva is not a professional climber, she has
been training specifically for these ascents for the past two years. Her next
goal is the Himalayas and the
world’s highest peak, Mount Everest.
