A unified volunteer hub for the exchange of information and experience may be set up in Central Asia. This initiative was put forward at the First Central Asian Volunteer Forum, which is taking place in Nur-Sultan. Activists believe that for this purpose it is necessary to build all the required infrastructure. The region’s countries have already agreed to build a single roadmap for the promotion of the volunteer movement.
“Much work has been done in the regions. Two regional meetings took place in Turkistan and Burabai, which involved discussions about approaches and possible joint projects between the countries. Also, everyone shared their accumulated experience in volunteering. A crucial point was the discussion of a common resolution on supporting Central Asian countries, and the initiative of the Head of State to promote the international Year of Volunteers,” said Spokesperson for the Kazakh Ministry of Information and Social Development Madiyar Kozhakhmet.
