A spring holiday that brought together over 300 artists from 15 countries. Large-scale celebrations of Nauryz have started in the Turkish city of Usak. Not only representatives of the Turkic-speaking states, but also guests from the Balkan countries take part in the events dedicated to the holiday of spring renewal and the equinox. According to the organizers, this year, as part of the celebration, a unique 15-day concert program is planned in eight cities of Turkey.
“We, as an organization working to preserve and protect the culture and art of the Turkic-speaking countries, pay special attention to the annual celebration of Nauryz. This time, the scale is truly grandiose: artists from many countries are invited, including artists from the countries of Central Asia as well as from Serbia and Macedonia,” said Arman Nurmakhamatuly, Head of Cultural and Artistic Affairs Department, Turksoy.
According to the participants, traditional festive concerts not only attract the attention of numerous spectators, but also open the way for the development of cultural ties between the Turkic-speaking countries.
“We took part in various traditional festive events. This concert is one of the large-scale events organized by TURKSOY. I am proud that Azerbaijan is a member of TURKSOY,” said Cinara Heydarova, Honored Artist of Azerbaijan.
“I am happy that we have a family like TURKSOY. We stand together as a family. We look forward to meet each other, and every time get together with great joy. We are very happy to be a member of the TURKSOY,” said Yuliana Krivoshapkina, a resident of Sakha Republic.
The two-week celebrations will end with a grand final concert at one of the stadiums in Bursa, the city that was declared the cultural capital of the Turkic world this year.
