20 concerts with the participation of artists from 15 countries - Nauryz festivities of such magnitude were held in 10 Turkish cities. According to the established tradition, the event was organized by the International Organization of Turkic Culture, TURKSOY. Preserving centuries-old traditions, representatives of the Turkic-speaking countries once again demonstrated the uniqueness of the holiday, the roots of which go far back in time. Nauryz is a bright symbol of unity, solidarity and friendship of the Turkic peoples, President of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Mustafa Sentop said at a meeting with the TURKSOY representatives.
“In 2009, at the initiative of the international organization TURKSOY, Nauryz was included in UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage list. In 2010, by the decision of the UN, it was granted the status of an international holiday. I wish to congratulate TURKSOY on its achievements and note the importance of the Organization's activities. Nauryz is a holiday that strengthens unity and solidarity among all peoples of the world. These celebrations are of great importance in the history of the entire Turkic world,” Sentop said.
