A series of cultural and educational events including master classes, concerts, art exhibitions and thematic tours took place in the capital as part of the annual Night at the Museum campaign. It was held at the National Museum of Kazakhstan and it gathered more than 30,000 guests. The museum prepared a unique program for them, which started with the march of guard of honor and military bands of the Ministry of Defense and the National Guard. Musicians of the Astana Opera performed popular works of foreign classics. The museum staff clearly demonstrated the process of restoration of museum items. The highlight of the event was the opening of three unique expositions. These are exhibitions of paintings by Kazakh artists and artisans, as well as a cartographic exposition from the museum's fund.
“For the first time, we are showing the visitors paintings from our fund that had not been shown before. These are our classics. There is also an ethnographic exhibition. The uniqueness of the exhibition is that our Kazakh chest boxes will be presented here, which had not been previously exhibited either. They will be presented from our fund. This is a very large exhibition. It is an exhibition of artisans, young artisans who will show their works of art that they have been creating this year. The uniqueness and peculiarity of the exhibition will be defined by the cultural and educational activities,” opined Abai Satybaldin, Deputy Director of the National Museum of Kazakhstan.
