Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and China exceeds US$17 billion over 11 months of 2021

Kazakhstan is ready to increase exports to China. In general, as Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted at the “Central Asia – China” summit, Kazakhstan is ready to increase supplies in China in 135 positions, including organic agricultural products and food by more than US$1 billion. Kazakh and Chinese businesspeople made US$17 billion over 11 months of last year. Chinese entrepreneurs invested US$20 billion in Kazakhstan’s economy. The parties also intend to develop projects as part of The Belt and Road Initiative, as well as transit potential. The main corridors passing through Kazakhstan allow Chinese manufacturers enter the markets of Europe, Middle East and the CIS as fast as possible. At the same time, Kazakhstan plans to strengthen cooperation with Central Asia. The country is set to continue creating wholesale distribution and agro-logistics centers in the zones bordering with the states of the region. Overall, trade volume between Kazakhstan and Central Asian countries has grown by almost 40 percent over 2021.
