The CHP-3 in Astana is set to begin operations this year. The works at the site are 90 percent complete. The launch of all four gas boilers is planned in a phased manner, resulting in a power capacity increase of 440 Gcal per hour for the capital. Kazakh Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov inspected the facility and instructed its timely commissioning. Smailov also visited the Turan and South-East gas heating stations, each capable of generating 350 Gcal/h. It is noteworthy that the South-East station is designed to fully cover the city’s left bank area. The new facilities are equipped with small boilers, allowing for more efficient utilization of natural gas. Additionally, they will be able to operate using diesel fuel. Overall, the CHP-3 along with two gas boilers will provide the city with around 1,100 Gcal/h, leading to a heat surplus in the upcoming heating season. Nevertheless, the city authorities are not going to stop there, as additional gas boilers are planned for implementation next year.
