The trade turnover between
Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan surpassed $4 billion in the first 11 months of 2023. The
two countries have set a goal to increase their mutual trade to $10 billion,
and signed a protocol on expanding partnership for this purpose. The parties
also have roadmaps that provide for an increase in trade turnover. In May 2023,
Kazakh manufacturers and service providers conducted a trade mission in
Tashkent. According to the Kazakh Ministry of Trade and Integration, export
contracts worth over $44 million were signed for the supply of construction
materials, confectionery and dairy products, as well as IT services to
Uzbekistan. To further boost the export of domestic products to the Uzbek
market, the International Center for Industrial Cooperation – Central Asia
industrial zone was established on the Kazakh-Uzbek state border a month ago.
