Kazakh and foreign theatre groups will present their art in the capital. Nur-Sultan will host the festival entitled ‘TEATR ALL Nur-Sultan theatre week’ from October 28 to November 1. The event is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the country’s Independence. More than 20 performances, as well as exhibitions and masterclasses from leading actors and stage directors, will be organized for the capital’s audience during the theater week. According to the organizers, first of all, it will be a long-awaited meeting of spectators and artists after a year and a half break.
“We have traditional Central Asian theater festivals in our country. If earlier they involved mainly drama theaters, then this year the main difference is that it provides an opportunity for puppet, drama, music and drama theaters, as well as ballet, opera and dance groups to showcase their creativity and skills,” said Askhat Mayemirov, Director of the Music Theater for Young Audiences.
A noteworthy detail is that the festival will end with a special gift from the mayor’s office of Nur-Sultan.
“This time on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Independence the mayoral office will present the ‘Theater Star’ award for the first time. Within four to five days, we will choose the best stage director, playwright, composer, choreographer, actor or actress and supporting actor or actress. A special cash prize will be awarded to the best young talents. Special attention will be given to debutants,” Mayemirov added.
