Flight tests of the Soyuz-5 launch vehicle are set to begin at
the end of this year. They will be conducted by the Kazakh-Russian joint
venture ‘Baiterek’, as announced by the Chairman of the organization’s Board,
cosmonaut Aidyn Aimbetov, during a meeting with students. Over 70 students from
Kazakh universities and vocational education institutions gathered in Astana to
meet with the Major General of Aviation. The discussion focused on the
development of the national space program. Students learned that Kazakhstan’s
aerospace sector is represented by a number of research and
engineering-technical structures. The event, dedicated to the 70th anniversary
of the Baikonur Cosmodrome and the International Day of Human Space Flight,
aimed to inspire young people to pursue careers related to high technology and
scientific advancements in the industry.
«This year has been declared the Year of Working
Professions. The professions at the Baikonur Cosmodrome fall under this
category. These include engineering and technical staff responsible for maintaining
the Baiterek rocket complex located at the cosmodrome. We invite students and
young specialists to work in this legendary site, the Baikonur Cosmodrome,» said
the Chairman of the Baiterek joint venture Aidyn Aimbetov.
