Six U.S. universities send invitation letters to school graduate from Kazakhstan

Six U.S. universities have sent invitation letters to a 16-year-old Kazakh school graduate. According to Nurzhan Abdrassilov, a graduate of the National Physics and Mathematics School of Almaty, when submitting documents, he was counting on an invitation. But he did not even expect that there would be several of them.

“I chose to attend the Berkeley University. It is one of the most prestigious U.S. universities, which is located in California. It ranks fourth in the global universities ranking in Computer Science, in other words, programming. I chose it because of the knowledge it can give me,” said Nurzhan Abdrassilov, graduate from the National Physics and Mathematics School in Almaty.

Nurzhan has participated several times in international Olympiads. He also developed an author’s program for teaching programming for Kazakh students. His parents admit that they always wanted their son to become a scientist in the field of mathematics or physics.

“Once Nurzhan said: “Dad, I’m not really interested in mathematics, I like computer science and I wanted to study computer programming.” After that, we approved his decision. He focused on computer studies and developed in this field. He must try to do his best,” Nurzhan Abdrassilov’s father, Gaziz Abdrassilov, shared.

The young man dreams of working in such large companies as Google or Netflix after studying in the U.S. He is planning to return home and contribute to the development of his country as soon as he gains invaluable experience and knowledge.
