The transshipment of Kazakh goods across the Turkic
countries border is set to be carried out under a simplified procedure. Similarly,
shipments from those states will also be delivered to Kazakhstan more quickly. Delivery
costs will decrease as well. This will be facilitated by introducing
preliminary electronic data exchange regarding the transported goods and
vehicles and applying risk management systems for cargo analysis. These and
other measures are outlined in the agreement to establish a simplified customs
corridor between the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) members. Today,
members of the Kazakh Parliament ratified the document and sent it to President
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for signature. According to members of the Senate, the
Upper House of Parliament, the document will boost the development of
international trade relations.
«The ratification of the agreement will promote the advancement of trade
and economic relations and enhance mutual economic integration among the OTS member
states. The implementation of the law will have a positive socio-economic
impact. In the first eight months of 2024, Kazakhstan’s foreign trade with the OTS
countries reached US$10.4 billion, with exports accounting for 61 percent of
this turnover,» said Senate Member Nurlan
Bekenov.
