Kazakhstan, Vietnam to cooperate in expert and analytical field

Kazakhstan and Vietnam will cooperate in the expert and analytical sphere. The Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (KazISS) and the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics signed a memorandum of cooperation in Astana. The parties agreed to hold regular online sessions with the participation of scientific communities from both countries, where they will discuss opportunities for infrastructure and investment partnership, as well as approaches and solutions for developing the agricultural sector and manufacturing industry. Notably, the first such meeting, hosted by KazISS during the visit of the Vietnamese delegation to the Kazakh capital, focused on trade, economic, and educational cooperation.

«Last year, our President visited Vietnam, where an intergovernmental joint action plan was signed to accelerate trade and economic cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, and agriculture. This expert collaboration aims, among other things, to foster closer ties and explore new areas of cooperation, as there is significant potential for joint efforts. In the first half of last year, trade turnover reached around $610 million, marking a 3.5-fold increase compared to 2022. This reflects strong growth, and it’s not the limit, as, in recent years, we have begun actively developing our cooperation,» said Alisher Tastenov, chief expert at the KazISS Asian Studies Department.

East Kazakhstan and Vietnam’s Bac Ninh province establish twinning relations

The two countries signed another memorandum of understanding at the Foreign Ministry in Astana. Within its framework, Bac Ninh, one of Vietnam’s developed provinces known for its modern industrial zones and transport infrastructure, will now closely cooperate with the East Kazakhstan region. The Kazakh Foreign Ministry notes that the document opens up new opportunities for increasing bilateral trade turnover and implementing joint business projects.
