Shardara Reservoir in Turkistan region 90% full

The Shardara Reservoir in the Turkistan region is 90% full, currently holding over 4.5 billion cubic meters of water. The water management facility is under round-the-clock monitoring. According to rescuers, the situation with spring floods in the region remains stable. Preventive measures are also ongoing. Notably, the region has a total of 20 rivers and 42 reservoirs.

«The water level in the transboundary Syr Darya River and rivers originating in the mountains is continuously monitored through the Tasqyn information system. According to Kazhydromet’s March forecast, precipitation in the region is expected to be within the normal range. In this regard, necessary work is being carried out as part of special plans approved by the governor,» said Assylbek Akylbekuly, chief specialist of the department at the Emergency Situations Department of the Turkistan region.
