The results of high school graduation examination were finalized in Kazakhstan. This year, about 290,000 applications were accepted for participation in it. There are 160,000 for the first attempt, and 130,000 for the second. 154,000 graduates passed the test 276,000 times, taking into account two attempts. This was announced at the briefing by representative of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education Gulzhan Dzharasova. According to her, 76 percent of graduates took the test in Kazakh, 24% chose the Russian and 213 people passed the high school graduation examination in English.
“First of all, this year the questions of high school graduation examination were compiled completely according to the updated curriculum. Secondly, the contextual test items in the discipline Kazakhstan’s History were introduced into the database of exam questions, while maintaining the number of test items unchanged. There are five contextual questions, out of 15 questions. Thirdly, a threshold score of high school graduation examination was increased to 75 points for applicants in the field of Law. There are no changes in other areas of education,” said Gulzhan Dzharasova, a spokesperson, the Kazakh Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
This year, high school graduation examination was held in electronic format in 43 centers, according to the principle “1 computer - 2 cameras - 1 examinee”. For comfortable testing of applicants, including the applicants with special educational needs, the time for passing the exam was extended by 40 minutes. The number of such graduates reached 811 people. Last year, there were only 90.
