On the Knowledge Day, over 3.5 million Kazakh school students returned to school. About 400,000 children went to school for the first time in their life, and about 170,000 teenagers started their senior year. According to the country’s Ministry of Enlightenment, over 70 percent of parents have chosen Kazakh as the language of instruction for their children. In total, there are more than 7,500 schools in Kazakhstan. This year, 80 new educational institutions opened their doors to students. And by the end of the year, it is planned to commission over 230 sites.
