Senate to support implementation of state-of-the-nation address

Members of Parliament intend to take an active part in implementing President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s state-of-the-nation address. In the Senate, it was noted that the tasks set by the Head of State are aimed at modernizing all spheres of life, strengthening the economy, and enhancing social policy. President Tokayev paid particular attention to the development of digital technologies, which should become a key tool for transformations in the country. Speaker of the Senate Maulen Ashimbayev emphasized that its priority is to ensure high-quality legislative support for the state-of-the-nation address, including the timely consideration and adoption of regulatory acts such as the Digital and Construction Codes. Ashimbayev also called on his colleagues to consolidate efforts around drafting a law on the special status of the city of Alatau, updating the Law On State Property, and implementing parliamentary reform. Only through such efforts can a solid foundation be laid for introducing innovations and building a modern state, the Chairman of the Senate stressed.

«President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has set the strategically important task of transforming the country into a fully digital nation within three years. In this regard, Parliament faces an important objective - to create the necessary legislative framework. First and foremost, we must ensure the thorough consideration and timely adoption of the Digital Code,» noted Maulen Ashimbayev, Chairperson of the Senate, Upper House of the Kazakh Parliament.
