Members of the Senate, an Upper
House of the Kazakh Parliament, summed up the outcomes of their visits to the
regions of the country. It bears noting that since the beginning of the year,
they have held meetings with local populations. Senate Chairperson Maulen
Ashimbayev underscored the importance of addressing all issues raised by
residents of villages and districts into their upcoming agenda, contributing to
their resolution.
“The first days of this year were
marked by visits to the regions and meetings with the public. We listened to
the current issues that are of concern to the population and discussed ways to
address them. We are now anticipating parliamentary inquiries from Senate
members on important matters. Furthermore, the issues raised will be
incorporated into the organization and holding of parliamentary hearings, as
well as government meetings,” Ashimbayev said.
At the Senate Bureau meeting,
Ashimbayev highlighted the key tasks outlined by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart
Tokayev in his interview with the Egemen Qazaqstan newspaper. He urged the MPs
to promptly initiate work on the drafts of the Budget and Tax Codes, without
waiting for their submission to the Senate.
