A new special economic zone (SEZ) is planned to be created
in Kazakhstan, specifically in the Aktobe region. The SEZ is expected to
produce clothing, parquet flooring, and cellulose. Additionally, there are
plans to launch plants for synthetic rubber and pharmaceutical production. One
of the key advantages of the economic zone will be its location - near the
major transport corridor ‘Western Europe - Western China’. This will facilitate
efficient distribution of products to Central Asia and Russia. The project’s developers
hope that the favorable location, along with tax incentives and preferences,
will attract investors. They are also offered to set up production facilities
for communication equipment, household appliances, batteries, and accumulators.
The contribution of SEZ facilities to the country’s economy is projected to
exceed four trillion tenge.
