President Tokayev outlines priority areas for development of Karagandy region

One of the primary tasks that Kazakhstan faces is to create favorable conditions for increasing the production of intermediate and final goods, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated at a meeting with residents of the Karagandy region during his working visit. According to the Head of State, the country’s economic diversification is becoming even more relevant considering the unstable global economic processes. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev outlined the priority areas for the development of the Karagandy region, emphasizing that at present this area is the driving force of the country’s industrial sector with the manufacturing sphere comprising 80 percent. At the same time, President Tokayev noted that the Karagandy region has broad prospects for the development in this field.

“In the Karagandy region, a number of promising industrial projects are already being implemented on the territory of the Saryarka Special Economic Zone and the Saran Industrial Zone. Large enterprises have been launched there. They can and should become sites for the relocation of foreign companies. Only the right conditions are needed. Therefore, the government is instructed to complete the formation of the infrastructure of the Saran Industrial Zone in 2023,” Tokayev said.
