President Tokayev meets with Turkmenistan’s Halk Maslahaty Chairman

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The Head of State expressed gratitude to Berdimuhamedov for his personal participation in the 10th anniversary summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). President Tokayev stressed that today’s meeting will contribute to further strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation between brotherly countries. According to him, Kazakh-Turkmen relations are successfully developing and fully correspond to the level of strategic partnership. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also highly appreciated the interaction between the two states. The parties noted the positive dynamics in mutual trade and the implementation of projects in energy, industry, transport and logistics, confirming readiness to further deepen cultural and humanitarian ties.

“In Kazakhstan, you are recognized as the undisputed leader of Turkmenistan, one of the outstanding statesmen of our time. You have made a huge contribution to the development of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. Thus, I believe that your visit and our meeting today are of great practical and political significance. We certainly have a lot to discuss in terms of further development of cooperation between our countries. We are fraternal and neighboring states. There are no problematic issues between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, only brotherly feelings,” said the Kazakh President.

“Over the years, we have accumulated a legal framework on foreign policy, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian issues. Speaking of political issues, we would like to express our gratitude for your consistent support of the neutral status of our country. I would like to emphasize that we are grateful to you, since you have done a lot for our foreign policy, working as a leader within the United Nations,” said the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan.
