Today, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart
Tokayev received Enrique Cerezo Torres, President of Atletico Madrid football club,
who presented a project on opening an Atletico Madrid Football Academy in
Kazakhstan. As emphasized by the Head of State, Kazakhstan pays special
attention to the development of football. About 40,000 young athletes are currently
engaged in sports schools and clubs across the country, the infrastructure is
being improved, and new stadiums are being built. The Atletico Madrid Football
Academy will be established at the Akbulak Olympic Center in the Almaty region.
At the end of the meeting, Enrique Cerezo Torres presented President Tokayev
with a jersey signed by the club’s players.
