Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov met with members of the national team of Kazakhstan who are set to compete in the upcoming 17th Summer Paralympic Games in Paris. Bektenov presented the athletes with the national flag, which they will proudly carry during the opening ceremony of the main sports event of the quadrennium. The flag bearers will be Berik Izmaganbetov, a medalist of the Asian Paralympic Games and ten-time Sitting Volleyball national championship winner, along with Sevda Aliyeva, the Shooting Para sport championship winner. The Prime Minister wished the members of the national Paralympic team success, who, in turn, promised to do their utmost to return with victory. Notably, 44 Kazakh athletes will compete in nine sports at the Summer Paralympic Games.
«The Paralympic Games are not just about sports; they are primarily a platform that brings together the best para-athletes from around the world. Therefore, we wish our athletes good luck in these main competitions of the quadrennium. The national flag is not only the main state symbol of Kazakhstan but also a symbol of unity and victory. We are confident that you will represent Kazakhstan with honor on the international stage and win new medals,» said Bektenov.
«We will participate in the Paralympic Games. The team has been intensively preparing for this competition. We aim to reach new heights and showcase all our skills and experience in these competitions,» said Bauyrzhan Sartayev, captain of Kazakhstan’s national sitting volleyball team.
