Kazakh athlete wins Tolagai strongman competition at fifth World Nomad Games

The Tolagai strongman competition, included in the World Nomad Games for the first time, comprises five challenging disciplines: squatting with a 100-kilogram bag on the shoulders, carrying a 100-kilogram stones and logs over a distance, towing a 500-kilogram trolley, and throwing a 20-kilogram javelin. Strongmen from around the world came to Astana to test their strength and endurance. The thrilling spectacle drew many interested spectators. According to the results of the competition, Kazakh athlete Azamat Makulbekov secured a confident victory. The silver medal went to a Russian athlete, and the bronze was claimed by a participant from Iran.

«The competitions were thrilling, featuring true strongmen from each participating country. We, on our part, made every effort to uphold the honor of Kazakhstan, the host of the event,» said Tolagai winner Azamat Makulbekov.
