Kazakhstan has introduced the Neo Nomad Visa, designed
for foreign specialists working remotely. To obtain this new type of visa, a
foreign national must have a monthly income of at least $3,000 or more outside
of Kazakhstan, be officially employed abroad, and provide medical insurance and
a certificate of no criminal record. According to the Kazakh Tourism National
Company, the economic impact of this initiative could exceed 3.5 billion tenge annually
if 500 people obtain the visa. It is worth noting that the initiative was
launched on the instructions of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
«This is very important, as 50 countries worldwide
have already implemented similar programs. The total number of «modern nomads»
is estimated to be around 35 million people. This visa allows them to stay in our
country for up to one year, provided they can demonstrate financial
self-sufficiency with a monthly income of at least $3,000. They must also be
employed in another country and not seek employment opportunities within
Kazakhstan,» noted Daniyel Serzhanuly,
Deputy Chairman of the Kazakh Tourism National Company.
In addition, Kazakhstan has launched the Digital
Nomad Visa, designed for international IT specialists who want to work
remotely. The program's advantages include simplified visa application procedures,
stable access to 5G and satellite communication throughout the country, government
support in the form of streamlined business operations, participation in
innovative projects, and integration with the local culture. According to the Kazakh
Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry, the launch
of the Digital Nomad Visa is an important step towards establishing the
country as an international hub for digital nomads.
