During a phone call, Kazakh
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed condolences to Russian President
Vladimir Putin and the Russian people regarding the human casualties caused by
the terrorist attacks in Dagestan. The Head of State emphasized Kazakhstan’s
firm condemnation of any acts of cruelty and violence against peaceful
citizens, viewing them as a threat to regional and international security. The
parties highlighted the importance of ongoing close cooperation in combating
terrorism and extremism. The leaders of the two states also discussed the
agenda of the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit in Astana.
