The Head of State noted that the Declaration on the State Sovereignty of Kazakhstan was the first step toward its Independence. Therefore, this document is of historical importance. He also stressed that starting from this year, the Republic Day will be celebrated in a new way, since the date was granted a status of the national holiday. Kazakh President is confident that this initiative would gain wide public support and become a good tradition. The holiday is aimed at strengthening the statehood, consolidating the unity and solidarity of the people, Tokayev said.
