President Tokayev briefed on Senate activities

Maulen Ashimbayev, the Chairman of the Senate, the upper house of the Kazakh Parliament, updated President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the legislative progress made during Parliament’s third session. Since its start, 28 laws have been adopted, including five initiated by deputies. In particular, a number of laws were adopted as part of the implementation of Tokayev’s addresses and instructions on housing policy, education and protection of children’s rights, stock trading and entrepreneurship, and the judicial system. Parliament is currently reviewing bills on creative industries, forestry, and specially protected natural areas. Next year, it will consider the Budget, Construction, Water, and Tax Codes. It is also planned to hold parliamentary hearings dedicated to the Year of Working Professions.
