Monuments of the early Iron Age were found in Abai region. 3,000-year-old settlements and necropolises, various household items and inscriptions on stones were discovered by scientists of the Eurasian National University. According to archaeologists, the tradition of burying a person together with a horse existed even in those days. The burial ground was named “Ordyn monument”. There are about 200 monuments there. An open-air museum can be created on this site in the future, experts say.
“We have found burial monuments, settlements and stone petroglyphs of the early Bronze Age. We make a list and all necessary documents. I believe that if this monument is studied in the future, new historical relics will be discovered,” said an archaeologist Ulan Umitkaliyev.
