President Tokayev briefed on life expectancy increase in Kazakhstan

The average life expectancy in Kazakhstan has reached 75.4 years for the first time, exceeding the global average. Overall mortality has decreased by 3%, while maternal and infant mortality have fallen to historic lows, Health Minister Akmaral Alnazarova reported to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The shortage of doctors has been reduced by 19% compared to last year. The Head of State instructed that, by the end of 2025, the construction of rural first-aid posts and outpatient clinics be completed, the effectiveness of the compulsory social health insurance system be improved, measures be taken to develop domestic production of critically important medicines, and the quality and accessibility of medical care be enhanced.
