The traditional national August teachers' conference was
held in Astana with the participation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. He
emphasized that teachers are central to shaping the country's future and should
hold a special place in society. The Head of State expressed his gratitude to
educators, noting that they perform work of national importance. He also
outlined key achievements in the education system, stressing that support for
the sector remains a top priority of state policy.
«I attach great importance to education. You may recall that
one of my first decisions as President in 2019 was specifically related to
teachers. We live in an era of knowledge and science. In the context of
globalization, only a country that possesses advanced knowledge and
cutting-edge technologies can achieve success. If we nurture an intellectually
advanced new generation today, we will stand at the forefront of global
development tomorrow,» Tokayev said.
The President also underscored the need to protect teachers'
rights, modernize school infrastructure, ensure equal access to quality
education in both urban and rural areas, advance STEM fields, and train
specialists equipped to meet the demands of the time. He further noted the
importance of accelerating the integration of digital technologies and
artificial intelligence into the educational process. According to the Head of
State, education and science play a key role in the country's development.
«Kazakhstan is already a progressive and rapidly developing
country, appealing not only to our own youth but also to many young people from
around the world, including neighboring states. It is essential to steadily
strengthen its international standing as a magnet for talent, breakthrough
ideas, and innovative technologies,» Tokayev added.
In conclusion, the Head of State presented state awards to a
number of educators in recognition of their outstanding achievements in
education and notable contributions to the nation, presenting them with orders
and medals.
