Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Armenia
increased by 23 percent last year, and this figure is expected to grow further,
as both states have tremendous opportunities. The active use of transport
logistics and sea routes could help achieve even higher numbers. President of
Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan stated this in an exclusive interview with
Kazinform. With President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, he discussed several other
important issues as well.
«For example, the problem of logistics –
connecting the Middle Corridor with the Republic of Armenia, or rather, with
our region. This will be a new opportunity: goods will go by land through
Georgia, Armenia, Iran, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and then further east to China
and back. Relevant instructions have been given to government representatives,
and this work is now underway,» Khachaturyan said.
According to Khachaturyan, one of Armenia’s
priorities is cooperation with Kazakhstan in the IT sector and cutting-edge
technologies. He spoke about the first achievements in these areas such as the
launch of a supercomputer and the opening of a new data center. At the same
time, Armenia is interested in Kazakhstan’s experience in education and is
ready to study effective practices and methods.
