More than 20 cooperation agreements were
signed during the international Central Asian Postal Summit in Astana. The documents
aim to simplify cross-border logistics, boost trade, and strengthen Kazakhstan’s
position as a key link in global supply chains. The agreements were reached
between national postal operators and logistics companies not only from the
region, but also from Europe, Southeast, Northeast, and East Asia.
Representatives from the Universal Postal Union and global leaders in
e-commerce were also among the distinguished guests. This field has become a
driver for increasing trade and transit volumes.
«Many large logistics companies here are
entering the market, and postal operators should compete with them. On this
platform, we exchange experiences on how to grow stronger, whether through
partnerships or joint ventures, as seen in the example of QazPost. In 2024, for
the first time in our history, the company’s revenue exceeded 100 billion tenge,»
said QazPost Managing Director Azamat Keskinbayev.
The speed of parcel delivery is significantly
increased by automation. The importance of technological processes in postal
services was also discussed at the summit. Kazakhstan’s National Postal
Operator QazPost is also introducing robotics in sorting and delivery. Last
year, it processed more than 20 million parcels, half of them from abroad. The
company now collaborates with transnational Chinese and Japanese companies in
the production of modern equipment.
«We installed more than 1,500 sorting machines
and other systems worldwide. From now on, we are trying to expand our market
into Central Asia, and of course, Kazakhstan. We installed a very small demo
system in a sorting center a few days ago, and we’ll start some demonstration
operations tomorrow,» shared Japanese Corporation Deputy Vice President
Yuichiro Ishibashi.
