Ahead of the quadrennial competition, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev presented the state flag to Kazakh athletes. The Head of State emphasized that athletes have a responsible mission to represent Kazakhstan with dignity and wished them success.

«The construction of sports facilities is underway in cities and villages, with around 70 sports centers opened last year. Nearly 200 more facilities are set to be built this year. The National Olympic Committee has undergone structural changes with the establishment of the Headquarters for Olympic preparations. Experienced specialists, including renowned athlete Gennady Golovkin, have been invited to the country. Success will be achieved when everyone becomes a true master of their field. Athletes are highly respected by our people, and becoming a champion is indeed a challenging endeavor. Kazakh folk wisdom says, «One who upholds honor will reach any goal.» I am confident that you will return as champions,» Tokayev said.

Kazakh athletes have consistently upheld the honor of the country at the Summer Olympics. The Head of State expressed confidence that they will achieve remarkable success in this year’s competitions.

«It’s a great responsibility and honor for us. We will put in all our efforts to ensure our flag is raised at the Summer Olympic Games. Preparation for the Olympics began immediately after securing the licenses. Prior to that, we underwent training as well. Now, we have one final training camp left. Once it's completed, we will depart for France,» said Aslanbek Shymbergenov, Captain of the Kazakhstan National Team.

«Kazakh athletes have secured eight licenses in athletics for the 2024 Paris Olympics. We are currently undergoing training at the Olympic Center in the Almaty region, with the main preparation phase already completed. The Olympic Games represent a great responsibility for every athlete, and our goal is to achieve the highest results possible. Competing among the world's best athletes is already a significant achievement. Of course, we will strive to perform at our best, win medals, and proudly raise the flag of our country in Paris,» said Olga Safronova, Asian Games Winner in Athletics.
