Kazakh movie wins Grand Prix at film festival in France

Kazakh film ‘Assault’ won the Grand Prix of the crime film festival in France. This is the 12th film directed by Adilkhan Yerzhanov. The plot of the film is based on the event when masked men take over a school in the fictional village of Karatas. Due to bad weather, police reinforcements cannot reach the village. So the local teacher has to assemble an assault team consisting of parents whose children are being held hostage. At this film festival, the film ‘Assault’ won another, no less prestigious award, namely the Critics’ Prize.
