Alatau city in Almaty region to become Kazakhstan’s new visiting card

The development of Alatau city will increase the level of trade and investment interaction between Kazakhstan and China and Central Asian countries. The Kazakh Government predicts that the implementation of the G4 City initiative will enable to launch a series of new production and commercial projects and to introduce best practices in various fields and industries, as well as expects the city to become an international business hub in the future based on the experience of well-known world centers such as Dubai, Singapore and Tianjin. Also, the Government has provided special conditions in Alatau to stimulate entrepreneurial activity and investment, including tax and customs preferences. The possibility of implementing a special legal regime, such as the rights of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC), is now under consideration. The Government has emphasized the need to activate the construction of necessary infrastructure in collaboration with businesses, particularly through the public-private partnership mechanism.
