«Astana has captured the attention of media from around the world. Journalists and reporters from 16 countries have arrived in Kazakhstan’s capital to cover the SCO Summit. Over 700 foreign and more than 200 Kazakh journalists have been accredited, including news agencies, television channels, print and online publications. A dedicated press center has been set up across several floors of the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation, providing all the necessary facilities for covering an event of this scale,» said correspondent Aigerim Akimzhanova.
In terms of scale, the largest group of
journalists is from China. They have come to cover Chinese President Xi
Jinping’s state visit to Astana and the SCO Summit. One of the 20
representatives from China’s largest publication, People’s Daily, noted that
the countries are vividly showcasing the development of their bilateral
relations across multiple fronts.
«A few weeks ago, we conducted a joint
interview with our Kazakh colleagues. We brought various projects
between our countries, such as LRT in Astana and the Lu Ban Workshop in
Oskemen, Kazakhstan. We are emphasizing the friendship between our nations and
discussing the prospects of our partnership. I am confident that our relations
will continue to progress further,» said Xie Yahong, journalist of Chinese
People’s Daily newspaper.
Azerbaijani journalists are also here covering
the events. They highlight that their media’s focus at the summit’s
discussions is on developing new trade routes across Eurasia.
«We are connected through various economic
sectors, including transportation. One of the critical projects in this
regard is the Middle Corridor, spanning Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and other
Central Asian countries. These nations are keen to develop this transportation
route and attract more cargo to enhance efficiency and save costs. We are
pleased to bring attention to this event and are particularly glad it is hosted
in Kazakhstan. We believe Kazakhstan’s chairmanship has been exceptionally
successful,» said Lyaman Zeynalova, editor-in-chief of Trend News Agency in Azerbaijan.
The press center in the Kazakh capital will
operate until late in the evening, providing news, reports, and live broadcasts
from the event. All of this clearly underscores the importance and
relevance of the topics on the agenda of the Astana SCO Summit.
