The share of small and medium-sized businesses
in Kazakhstan's economy currently stands at 37 percent. More than four million
people are employed in this sphere. Over the past six months, sector representatives
have produced goods worth 34 trillion tenge, reflecting a growth rate of around
20 percent compared to 2023. The development of entrepreneurship and the sector’s
potential were discussed today at a forum in Astana. Domestic producers
presented ranges of finished products that are in demand both domestically and
abroad. For example, solar panels manufactured in the south of the country are set
to be exported to the U.S. and Canada in the near future. With the help of
state support, the entrepreneur plans to establish a full production cycle and
produce silicon wafers.
«Production has already been established, and
our solar panels are of the latest models. We have adopted technologies from
Spanish manufacturers. UL compliance certificates have already been obtained,
and we intend to send the first batch to our customers at the end of November,
with an initial shipment of around 500-600 kilowatts,» said Serik Kulmurzayev, commercial
director of the solar panel manufacturing company.
Zhanargul Zhaparova, an entrepreneur from Mangystau,
also plans to expand her business. She is a participant of the «One Village - One
Product» project. Previously, she received a state grant to purchase equipment
for her wool processing workshop. Now, the businesswoman plans to open another
production facility.
«When we produce our products, we are left
with a lot of sheep wool waste. Therefore, we want to create a zero-waste
production system and make a bio-fertilizer specifically from local sheep wool.
We need support to secure investment for equipment and to build a workshop,» said
entrepreneur Zhanargul Zhaparova.
Notably, 450 entrepreneurs attended the forum.
Representatives of government agencies, experts, and the business community jointly
discussed further measures to develop business activity in the country.
