Tourism revenues in the Turkistan region exceeded
5.5 billion tenge in the first nine months of this year. In total, over 235,000
travelers have visited the region since the beginning of 2024. The number of
visitors increased after the city was recognized as the tourist capital of the
Turkic world. Most visitors come from Türkiye, Russia, India, and China, with
many attracted by the local landmark—the majestic Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed
Yasawi. Plans are in place to double the tourist flow in 2025. Notably, the
region has attracted over 50 billion tenge in investments for tourism development
this year. Additionally, methodological manuals are being developed, compiling
unified information on tourist attractions, including regional legends, myths, noteworthy
events, and other facts. The work is being carried out in collaboration with
archaeologists, historians, architects, local historians, and other
specialists. All materials will be translated into Kazakh, Russian, English,
Turkish, Chinese, Arabic, and Japanese.
«We chose Turkistan as our family vacation
destination because we had read a lot online about the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed
Yasawi. Now that we've arrived, we are enjoying our trip. It truly is a special
city,» shared Sehun Pak, a tourist from South Korea.
«In previous years, the number of tourists was
around 560,000, including both domestic and foreign visitors. During that time,
more than 14,000 tourists used the «E-Qonaq» application to visit the region,» said
Nurdaulet Medeuov, Head of the Tourism Department of the Turkistan Region.
