As the chair of the Shanghai
Cooperation Organization (SCO), Kazakhstan has arranged over 100 major events aimed
at strengthening multilateral ties among the SCO member states since July last
year. The major ones included the SCO digital, tourism, and energy forums,
which enabled the parties to expand opportunities for mutually beneficial
collaboration and discuss important issues of cooperation, experts note. Also, key
documents that will contribute to strengthening peace, security, and stable
development in the region are expected to be adopted during the upcoming SCO
summit.
«The very important document
should be signed. The Astana Declaration, the Astana SCO Declaration, first of
all, and the very important thing is the Kazakh initiative On World Unity for a
Just Peace and Harmony. That is the idea, which should be the final bottom of
the one year of being Kazakhstan as the leader of the SCO,» said political
expert Alibek Tazhibayev.
