A total of 359 foreign observers will monitor the voting process during the nationwide referendum on Kazakhstan’s new Constitution on March 15. The observers represent 38 countries and 11 international organizations, including observer missions from the CIS and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), as well as the SCO, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Organization of Turkic States, among others. According to the Central Referendum Commission, the accreditation of international observers has been completed. The commission’s chairman, Nurlan Abdirov, said the accreditation process was carried out based on submissions from Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry. Observers will monitor the vote and ensure that established procedures are followed on the day of the referendum.
«Representatives of the central electoral bodies of 15
countries will take part in observing the referendum. In particular, heads of
election commissions from Azerbaijan, Albania, Armenia, the Kyrgyz Republic,
Russia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Türkiye will participate,» Abdirov said.
