There is a growing interest in mastering
the Kazakh language. The number of the Kel soileseik club members in Oskemen is
steadily on the rise. People of different ages and nationalities join the club
to learn the language of the great thinker and poet Abai, with the older
generation showing particular enthusiasm. According to the members, the lessons
are very intense, productive, and informative. In addition to learning new
material, students review the material covered in each lesson and write texts.
Ayan Kalymbek, a teacher of Kazakh language and literature, admits that he has
found a job he loves. It is rewarding for the volunteer to receive sincere
feedback from the club members.
“I worked as a preschool teacher and
methodologist in a kindergarten. We tried to incorporate a bilingual
component with the children. Thus, I have been familiar with the Kazakh
language for years. When the language courses opened, I gladly enrolled,” said
pensioner Galina Kolmakova.
“I believe it’s our civic duty to educate the
public in this way. That’s why I willingly conduct such classes on a
voluntary basis. With each lesson, the students’ level of knowledge improves.
We can already see tangible results,” said Kalymbek.
